MADRID, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Saturday's results in the BBVA Primera Liga have thrown a title race wide open as Barcelona lost their second successive league game, falling 1-0 away to Real Sociedad, while Atletico and Real Madrid both win theirs.

Just before the international break, Barca enjoyed a 12 point cushion over Real and 11 points over Atletico, but that has now been cut to 4 and 3 points respectively and although head to head goal difference would give Barca the advantage in the event of a tie, nerves are appearing in Barcelona.

The pro-Barca sporting paper, Diario Sport published the headline on Sunday 'Keep Calm and Wake Up" to reflect those nerves and although Barca coach Luis Enrique insisted on Saturday night that his side's defeat was more down to their rivals' good play rather than their own poor performances, something is not right.

Key players such as Leo Messi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets look tired and don't have convincing replacements, as others such as Arda Turan struggle to adapt to their roles at the club.

As long as Busquets and Ivan Rakitic are in central midfield, Barca look OK, but if either is missing the side's football suffers as neither Arda nor fit-again Rafinha carry out the same roles.

The good news for Barca is their calendar is not especially daunting with Valencia, Sporting Gijon and Espanyol all to visit the Camp Nou while there are away trips to face Deportivo la Coruna, Betis, neither of which has much to play for, before ending the season at struggling Granada.

In contrast, Real Madrid have four away games with trips to Getafe and Rayo Vallecano, both of which are in the capital, Real Sociedad and Deportivo la Coruna, while Villarreal and Valencia both visit the Santiago Bernabeu.

In truth that doesn't look too daunting and neither do their neighbors' fixture list until the end of the campaign.

Atletico have four home matches as Granada, Malaga, Rayo and Celta play in the Vicente Calderon, while Athletic Bilbao away looks to be their toughest tie, before they play bottom of the table Levante.

Of course all three sides are still alive and kicking in the Champions League, although with Atletico entertaining Barca this week in the Calderon one of the two will go out, while Real Madrid have to overturn a 2-0 deficit at home to Wolfsburg.

In the race for the Primera Liga, defeat in Europe could save tired legs, but that would be a big price to pay for domestic bragging rights in a season which has suddenly become a lot more interesting.

Italian Olympic Committee President Giovanni Malago put a definitive end Tuesday to Rome's bid to host the 2024 Olympic Games after the city's newly elected mayor refused to support the project. "I wrote to the International Olympic Committee [IOC] today to withdraw Rome-2024 from the running air jordan 12 dark grey for sale ," Malago told a specially convened press conference.

Rome's ill-fated bid to host the Olympic Games was effectively killed off last month when the city council voted in favor of the new mayor's request to withdraw support.

Nearly two-thirds of councilors backed mayor Virginia Raggi's position that the cash-strapped city needs to sort out its own problems before it is in a -position to host the Games.

"I'm forced to interrupt this process 11 months from its conclusion and after three years of work," said Malago. "It's a pity because our project was a winning project. It's irresponsible to have to give up the IOC money and the 177 jordan 12 dark grey 2017 for sale ,000 jobs which would have been created."

Italy's Olympic committee CONI had already accepted that the bid was dead in the water and has said a new attempt to get the Games was unlikely for at least 20 years.

Italy hosted the Summer Olympics once in Rome in 1960, and the Winter Games three times - most recently in Turin in 2006.

Raggi jordan 12 retro dark grey for sale , a member of the populist Five Star Movement, had made it clear before she was elected in June that she did not think the Italian capital should be bidding for the Olympics at a time when its creaking transport system and other public services are falling apart for lack of investment.

Rome's withdrawal leaves Budapest jordan 12 dark grey suede for sale , Los Angeles and Paris battling for the right to host the global sporting event.

Malago said the decision to withdraw the bid was a "very grave renunciation and a great disappointment."

CONI in 2011 also pulled out of a bid to host the 2020 Games because the prime minister at the time, Mario -Monti jordan 12 dark grey for sale , believed the country did not have the financial means.

The IOC will announce the successful candidate for 2024 Games on September 13 next year in Lima, Peru.

SYDNEY, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- The man who allegedly drove his car into crowds of pedestrians in Melbourne, causing chaos in the city, has been formally charged with five counts of murder.

Dimitrious Gargasoulas, 26, was questioned by Victoria Police for the first time late on Monday evening after he spent the weekend in hospital due to a gunshot wound sustained at the end of the rampage.

Prosecutors will allege that Gargasoulas, who was out on bail at the time of the incident, stabbed his brother, who remains in hospital, in the early hours of Friday morning before driving recklessly around Melbourne for 12 hours.

The incident came to a head when Gargasoulas drove his car into the pedestrian-only section of the popular Bourke Street shopping mall at about 2 p.m. local time on Friday, ploughing his car into crowds of unsuspecting shoppers.

Five people have died as a result, including a three-month-old baby boy and 10-year-old girl, and two more, including the baby's two-year-old sister, remain in a critical condition in hospital.

Gargasoulas was charged as thousands of people gathered in Melbourne's Federation Square, just a few hundred meters from where the ra.
